Gunmen Kidnap Three Shiites From Karbala in Anbar Upon Their Return from Jordan

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Three people were abducted from Karbala on Saturday by unidentified gunmen in Anbar were returning from Jordan, an official security source said.Unidentified men have kidnapped five elements of police earlier in Anbar, after being ambushed.The security source said the gunmen were able to control a security station in Ramadi, the center of Anbar and captivated the elements.“Gunmen stopped this afternoon in 110 kilometers area in Anbar, a car  coming from Jordan heading to Karbala, carrying three men and a woman with her child, where the three men were dragged to an unknown destination,” said a security source.He added that “the security forces swept the area in search of the kidnappers”.The security source said that the abducted men were of Karbala people.This incident reminds us with the abductions that were taking place in 2006 - 2009, on the international road in Anbar, where unidentified gunmen used to stop cars coming from outside the country and vice versa, as they either abduct, steal their money or kill them.However, the situation had evolved specifically in 2008, where the elements of “al-Qaeda” according to security officials in Baghdad used to kill the travelers each one according to their sect.The security situation in the country is really getting to be so tensed after a wave of organized bombings that hit several cities and claimed the lives of dozens of people./129
